THE TEAM

Larry Berman, President

Larry brings over 35 years of marketing, sales, and operations experience to the Lighting and Energy industries. Growing up, he worked for various lighting distributors and factories learning the business from the stock room, loading dock, accounting department and showroom floor perspectives. Larry founded the agency in 1991 establishing an organization that’s a reliable and ethical source of Specialty Lighting and Energy products for specifiers, distributors, and end users. Larry works with key accounts and handles overall management of the agency.

 

Steve Hirshenhorn, Partner

Steve has over 35 years of experience working with specifiers, dealers and national accounts. He started his sales career working for Gold Seal Electric, a major Philadelphia distributor tutoring under Marty Berman and then spent 11 years at Progress Lighting where he served as National Quotations Manager, Commercial Product Manager and Senior Specifications Sales Representative. Steve joined MBA as a partner in 1994 and manages the agency’s sales activities—working with key specifiers, distributors, and MBA's National Network of Energy Reps.

 

Matt Berman, Quotation Manager and Outside Sales Rep

Matt handles both Inside and Outside responsibilities. Inside he's responsible for Quotations and Project management. Outside of the office he focuses on Lighting and Energy Sales and distributor support. Additionally Matt is MBA's liaison between select MBA products and eCommerce sites. Matt brings an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and experience in Retail Sales to his work.

 

Marty Berman, Chairman Emeritus

Marty has been regarded by many as the guru of low voltage lighting and specialty architectural lighting. He has over  70 years of experience in the lighting industry and is considered an icon in the field of architectural lighting. He designed, built and managed the first light lab on the East Coast. He is well respected for his knowledge, creativity and integrity. Marty's image in our masthead is taken from a 1982 Philadelphia Magazine article featuring his work.
